![]() Free time that is used to pursue meaningful activities can lead to increased happiness. ![]() Free time doesn't always equate to happiness.True happiness and success depends on where you use this precious resource. Only then, we can improve the quality of our life and enjoy the struggle. We must do everything in our power to improve our predicament. Let's stop complaining about it and accept it. We need to take ownership of our actions and love what we have to do or in other words embrace our fate. ![]() So we need to mitigate this and limit the consumption of passive leisure. But too much passive activity can numb the mind. Our minds aren't always sharp enough to always be attentive to everything we do. ![]() Now, the author didn't ask to stop all passive activities completely. Passive leisure would include but not be limited to: binging on Netflix and YouTube for hours on end, mindlessly scrolling through social media, doing any activity that doesn't require attention and engagement from the brain. ![]() Studies have shown time and time again that people tend to be happier and more engaged when pursuing active leisure rather than passive leisure.Īctive leisure would include but not be limited to: playing sports, reading an engaging book, working-out, going out for a run, talking to friends and families etc. Focus on the task at hand and not to worry about the end result. ![]()
